ColRegs (Collision Regulations)

International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea, 1972 (also known as the "International Rules of the Road" and "navigation rules") is a treaty between participating maritime nations that governs the conduct of ships approaching other vessels so as to avoid the risk of collision. It applies in all international waters and to local waters of countries that do not have their own local rules.

The United States has local rules for Inland Waters, and for the Great Lakes and the Western Rivers, and all other waters within the coastal headlands -- such as San Francisco Bay and Puget Sound.
